The RMTC promotes uniformity, safety, and integrity by providing education and support through on-site training, remote education, and printed materials for regulators and licensees including:
- Best Practices — compilations of guidance acquired through consultation with experts, site visits, and lessons learned.
- Downloadable brochures for racing regulators, horsemen’s organizations, and racing associations to distribute to their members.
- Webinars and presentations provide more detailed information on a range of topics of interest to regulators, veterinarians, other stakeholders and racing fans.
The RMTC provides instruction at the Racing Officials Accreditation Program’s Stewards/Judges schools and Continuing Education meetings, the University of Arizona Racetrack Industries Program, the Godolphin Flying Start program, and other industry conferences. Presentations cover a range of topics including drug testing, emerging threats to racing integrity, anti-doping strategies, medication regulation, responsible management of the horse’s environment, injury prevention strategies, and racing regulatory veterinarians’ duties.
